If you happen to get the following message after clicking on Preferences, don’t panic! There is an easy fix. Just follow this steps!

After Effects Error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <19631> <BEE_WorkQueue> <5> BEE_Project:: TimestampGetNext ZANZIBAR-3: cannot produce timestamp, frozen=0, open=0

Followed by:

After Effects can’t continue: Sorry, After Effects has crashed. For After Effects Help and Support go to….. If you still can’t resolve the issue, please contact Adobe Technical Support (2).


This error appears when the temp folder of After Effects can’t be override by the software. So, the best way to get rid of this is to delete such folder and After Effects will create a new one again.

  1. Locate where your temp folder for After Effects is in your computer. For mine, it was on the following path:
    • C:\Users\[YOUR COMPUTER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\

2. Look for the After Effects folder and delete it.

3. Open After Effects again.
